I Miss You Vancouver

With Knit City happening in Calgary this year, the lovely Yoroki Oki had the brilliant idea to have vendors dye up an I Miss You colourway.  This is my contribution.   Available on Emma SW Merino 80/Nylon 20 (420yds, 115g) OR Downie DK (17 Micron SW merino) (280yds, 115g) OR 5oz untreated Targhee spinning fibre. 

My inspiration for this moody little colourway is my trip through the mountains to get to Knit City Vancouver.  It’s sort of become a joke for us that it always rains either at load in or load out at Knit City Vancouver, without fail, so I had to have the base colour as a grey. The grey also represents the gorgeous mountains we drive through to get there. There’s blue speckles in a couple of different shades to represent the sky, ocean and mountain lakes. There’s green to represent the deep colour of the evergreens and little pops of orange and red to represent the leaves beginning their change. As a Maritimer at heart seeing those red and orange leaves really warms my heart, as we don’t have maple trees and their vibrant colours here in Alberta.
